Sligo Library provides a schools exchange service to 69 primary schools in Sligo Town and County.
The library van visits the schools with a wide selection of reading materials on board. Teachers and their pupils are invited onboard to choose their selection. Sligo County Library endeavours to visit the schools twice each academic year.
This service gives each primary school the ability to supplement their own resources and give each and every child the library experience.
Subject areas available on the van are popular fiction, classics, a selection of Irish books and a wide range of Non-Fiction titles, which are especially useful for project work. We also provide a collection of literacy titles to assist children who are beginning to read and develop reluctant readers of all ages.
