Hello and welcome to Sligo Library Summer Stars 2022

Sligo Central Library will run the Summer Stars Reading Adventure for children in all library branches, running throughout July and finishing in August with our Medal and Certificate Awards Ceremony

Leas Cathaoirleach, Cllr Marie Casserly, County Librarian Donal Tinney, along with Sligo Rovers F.C. team members and students from Our Lady of Mercy Primary school joined us for the celebration.
The children were delighted to receive their first rewards, and the chance to meet footballers, Will Fitzgerald, Karl O’Sullivan, Adam McDonnell and Paddy Kirk.

Free rewards for each visit to your local Sligo Library branch.

With each visit to the library children will receive a small reward.
Every child who takes part in the Reading challenge is invited to an awards ceremony in early August to receive a certificate and medal.

Summer Stars is an exciting reading-based programme which is available free of charge to all children across the country.

Each child is invited to register for Summer Stars 2022 at their local library and enjoy reading many books as part of the adventure during the summer holidays, there will be rewards and incentives along the way. The Reading Challenge is for everyone, with no restrictions on how many books to read before gaining rewards.

All children who participate are invited to attend an award ceremony when they will be presented with their own Summer Stars medal and certificate.

We will also have weekly competitions and events in Sligo Central Library throughout the Summer.

More information will be available on our website and social media channels over the coming weeks.
