Join us LIVE in Sligo Central Library on Wednesday 25th May, for a special edition of The Word with PAUL LITTLE, for the launch of In the Shadow of Benbulben: Dixie Dean at Sligo Rovers.

This is a FREE, unticketed event and seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Paul Little has worked as a writer, editor and instructional designer in the e-learning industry for over 25 years. In that time, and driven by his passion for all things football, he has also worked in sports broadcasting with RTE and has written for numerous publications, including Football 365 and the Irish Daily Star, where he spent several seasons covering Premier League and European football.

A native of Dublin, Paul has lived in Wicklow since 2003 with his wife and four children.

In the Shadow of Benbulben – Dixie Dean at Sligo Rovers represents Paul’s debut as a solo artist in the world of books.

Austin O’Callaghan is Sports Editor with Ocean FM in Sligo. A key part of his role is reporting and commentating on Sligo Rovers Football Club. He has been working as a sports journalist since 1993, which included 11 years with the BBC as a senior broadcast journalist. During that time, he covered two Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and the Cricket World Cup. He also fronted BBC NI’s flagship GAA programme ‘The Championship’ for six years.

Stephen O’Dowd is a BIMM graduate, musician and singer songwriter from Sligo, who performs gigs regulartly across the North West,

The Word, Wednesday 25th of May, will take place in Sligo Central Library, Stephen Street from 6.30pm. This is a free unticketed event with limited seating, doors close at 6.30pm. .

This event will be Streamed on Facebook on the night.

The Word is a collaboration between Sligo Central Library and the BA in Writing & Literature at ATU.
