“Identity and Transformation; from Partition to the Present”
Sligo County Libraries Writer in Residence 2021 – 2022 as part of the Sligo Decade of Centenaries Programme.
Sligo County Library service wishes to engage a writer to facilitate a programme of workshops and literary events for two years beginning in autumn 2021. This residency will look at the theme of Identity and Transformation; from Partition to the Present. Together with participants from across the community the writer will explore topics such as the legacy of fractured communities, the potential held within new communities and the power of reflecting on the past to honour its lessons.
The Writer in Residence will oversee the editing, design and production of a publication to reflect the best of writing from the residency across the generations.
The residency will be for a period of two years commencing in 2021, in order to allow for the necessary engagement with communities throughout County Sligo in 2021 and to fulfil the brief as outlined.
Please send your application in the form of a Curriculum Vitae along with a brief proposal (500 words max.) of your vision for the Writer-in-Residence project by Wed 22nd September 2021 for the attention of County Librarian Donal Tinney by email only to [email protected].
