Sligo Central Library | Comic Con | Friday 28th of June 11am – 4pm | FREE EVENT

Our Summer Schedule begins this week with a bang, pow and zap at our first COMIC CON this Friday at Sligo Central Library, from 11am – 4pm.

FREE EVENTS FOR ALL AGES

There is something for everyone, including adults and children, with a magic show, role-playing games, movie mahem and costumes.

We start with Reuben the Entertainer and his comedy magic show at 11.

We then have MakerMeet in the building with the new ATUSligo Maker Space, consisting of two workshops:

* Green screen Workshop: displaying their Green Screen technology, which is used in most blockbuster movies, including the worlds of Marvel’s and DC’s superheroes. It neatly fits into the MakerSpace slogan: ‘Imagine It – Create It’.

* Cosplay Helpdesk: The CosPlay Maker Helpdesk will endeavour to answer questions about costume, makeup, armour, and weapons and offer guidance on how best to create these props. The team is more than qualified to do so, given leather, 3D printing, glue, masks, foam, moulding/casting, paint, latex, cardboard, and metal, among others, are the materials they work with.

Wayne O’Connor will also be here for a role playing games workshop: MUTANTS AND MASTERMINDS. Don your capes and charge up your superpowers as you join your GamesMaster wayne O Connor in a game of Mutants and Masterminds, the Superhero roleplaying game. Players will assume the role of various superheroes now tasked with foiling the plans of villains and protecting the citizens from harm. This session is a short introduction, no experience required!

All these events are free but booking is required.
