Sligo County Museum, Stephen Street, Sligo closed on Saturday 6th September 2025, in order to facilitate urgent repair work to be carried out on the façade of the Museum building.

Building work may take approximately 3 to 4 months, after which the process of restocking and restoration of the Museum exhibits, will require a further 2 months work.

Sligo County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by this temporary closure and we look forward to reopening in 2026.
