Bealtaine is Ireland’s national festival which celebrates the arts and creativity as we age.  In conjunction with the Bealtaine Festival, Sligo Central Library is holding a number of workshops and classes during the month of May.

Poetry Workshop | “Music of Our Generation”

Join Maeve McKenna for a very special poetry workshop on the theme of ‘Music of Our Generation’ where participants will discuss songs from their younger years and from that, explore how to put these memories into a brief memoir which we will then shape into a poem.

This will be an interactive workshop where the group will be free to share and develop thoughts around their early lives.

History in a Box Workshop

Create your own personal history box with Joan Moffitt, in association with MSLETB.  This is a three-part craft workshop, using stories, photo’s, memento’s, tickets stubs, ribbons, newspaper clippings to create your own personal memory box.  This box can be wrapped in your preferred material to keep for yourself or share with your loved ones.
