Join a quartet of poets, Sinéad Mc Clure, Peggie Gallagher, Gerard Beirne and Maeve Mc Kenna for a special poetry reading for Culture Night Sligo 2023.

Sinéad McClure’s writing is published on radio, and in anthologies, magazines and online including; The Honest Ulsterman, The Stinging Fly, Southword, Live Encounters and more.

Peggie Gallagher’s work has appeared in literary journals in Ireland, England and North America. Shortlisted for Strokestown International and Gregory O’Donoghue poetry awards. Winner of the Listowel Poetry Collection prize, 2012. Her first collection, Tilth, is published by Arlen House.

Gerard Beirne has published three novel, a collection of short stories, and three collections of poetry. His new novel, The Thickness of Ice, is forthcoming in 2024. A Hennessy New Irish Writer of the Year Award winner, he has been shortlisted for the Danuta Gleed Literary Award, The Bord Gais Irish Book Awards, and Kerry Irish Fiction Award.

Maeve Mc Kenna whose work has been placed in several international poetry competitions and published widely, including Rattle, Mslexia, Banshee and The Stony Thursday Book. She was part of a collaboration with three poets which won the Dreich Alliance Pamphlet Competition in 2021. Her debut pamphlet, A Dedication to Drowning, was published in February 2022. Body as a Home for This Darkness, a second pamphlet, will be published in September 2023.
