A FREE two-part poetry workshop with author, Terry McGowan, using items from the archive relating to the revolutionary period as creative prompts.
The workshops will take place in Sligo Central Library on the following dates:
- Wednesday 4th of October 12.30pm – 2.30pm
- Wednesday 11th of October 12.30pm – 2.30pm
In partnership with Poetry Ireland, the workshops will include the following:
- Analysing selected items from the collection.
- Writing exercises and help to develop their own poetic response to the material
- Participants can bring their own documents or photographs to write about
- Writers are invited to submit their poems to a new archive held in UCD Special Collections
