A Day of FREE Creativity for Children and Young People

Ireland is the first, and only, country in the world to have a national day of free creativity for children and young people under 18. Cruinniú na nÓg is a flagship initiative of the Creative Ireland Programme’s Creative Youth Plan to enable the creative potential of children and young people. Creative Ireland Programme’s Creative Youth Delivered in partnership with the 31 Local Authorities and supported by RTÉ, you are invited to participate in a programme of fun, free, creative activities and workshops!

Beaded Jewellery

Ages 6-12
Design and create your own beautiful beaded jewellery! In this relaxed, hands-on workshop, participants will explore colour, pattern and texture while making bracelets, necklaces or keyrings to take home. With a wide selection of beads and charms to choose from, everyone can create something with their own unique flair.

Crazy Carnival Masks

Ages 6-12		Get bold, bright and brilliantly bonkers! In this hands-on workshop, children will design and create their own oversized carnival mask using cardboard, vibrant colours, fun patterns and 3D details. From wild shapes to googly eyes and textured decorations, every mask will be totally unique and bursting with personality. Perfect for creative kids who love to experiment, play with colour and think outside the box!

**This is a 3 part workshop, children will need to attend all sessions as well as the performance on Saturday 6th June at 12.30pm, and rehearsal on Friday 5th June (time TBC)**		Join Órla Mc Sharry in a series of workshops where participants will explore and participate in an original piece of drama and then perform it live in the Marquee on Cruinniú na nÓg Day!

**This is a 2-part workshop, children will need to attend both sessions**		Wonder Walls 2026 for Cruinniú na nÓg invites young people aged 12–18 to get creative through vibrant, collaborative street art workshops. Participants will work alongside a professional artist across two hands-on sessions to create a large-scale mural and contribute to a shared national artwork piece, unveiled as part of Cruinniú na nÓg celebrations.

Workshop places are limited and must be booked in advance. If you don’t secure a spot, join us on June 6th for drop-in activities and experience street art in action!

Delivered by The Walls Project, the team behind the Waterford Walls Street Art Festival. Funded by Creative Ireland.
